European axis of culture
Near the apartments of Casa Gabriella Valsugana is the Via Claudio Augusta, an ancient Roman road that starts from the Adriatic and from the plains of the Po through the Trentino leading to the Danube.
Some historical note
The road was commissioned by the Roman general Drusus Major, adopted son of Augustus, who decided to open a mountain pass in the Alps to connect people and goods in the north of the empire. The work began in 15 BC and was completed 60 years later by the son of Drusus, the emperor Claudius (41-54 AD).
A symbol path between nations
After more than 2000 years, Via Claudio Augusta is crossed by several travelers and is now considered a symbol that crosses the three nations where they mix history, culture, traditions, landscapes, art and gastronomy.
